He joins a rather exclusive club of county bloggers such as Jerry Heinnemann and Norman Alderman all of whom have spent the night in jail because of a corrupt magistrate system and a corrupt sheriff.
Free speech is not a welcome thing in Pocahontas County despite the face that blogging put one deputy in jail for ten years or more. It apparently makes some of the local jerks quite nervous. Free speech bloggers are always arrested at night so that they will spend at least one night in jail. We call it "punishment by arrest." Innocent people who haven't been in jail are squirreled many miles away from the county and then have to hitch a ride home to Pocahontas County.
He was arrested on trumped up charges of animal cruelty as payback for the things he has exposed about our local judiciary system. Steve comes on strong, doesn't mince words, and generally irritates the daylights out of the establishment.
We are posting the paper work associated with this arrest.

He was not responsible directly with his own hands for the death of the cat. The owner of the cat could file civil suit without question for compensation for the loss of the cat. But by definition he was not cruel himself the dogs were. He's quite guilty of violation of the leash law.
Now did he need to be arrested for this in the middle of the night and left sitting on the curb at the jail no.
The charge of Cruelty is an overreach and so is the action of arresting him at night that has to stop especially with the history he has with the Sheriff's Office where they tried to make it so they could search his house over stop sign violation. I mean seriously that was a joke. Pattern has emerged and it's plain for anyone to see.
I see another complete waste of taxpayers money in the prosecution of this.
The only person I see innocent of any wrongdoing is the owner of the cat. Steven should not have left you should have tried to find the owner of the cat apologized and offered compensation in my opinion.And see if the cat could be helped. But he's not guilty of Cruelty to the cat as he did not intentionally do anything to it that resulted in injury to the cat.
The magistrate should have never issued a warrant for cruelty to animals in my opinion he will be that in court with a decent lawyer. The magistrate may not realize this but she does not look good and this in my opinion.
Steven loses face at the Chinese say for his actions and lack of actions in my opinion.
The sheriff makes himself look vindictive again in my opinion .
Everybody involved except the lady who owned the cat need to take a long hard look at themselves. Do you really like what you see are you really proud of your actions and think they were right.

I believe via the documents they are using his kicking his dog in the head to make it stop attacking the cat as HIS act of cruelty to an animal. Which of course is BS.

ReplyDeleteword out of the Court house is there a a bunch more warrants that are currently sealed, that were requested by Sheriff. Some are Search warrants. Not sure all for whom, but just a heads up folks. Also seems off how they were so fixated on the "evidence" of a dead cat. A cat the documents clearly show the owner could NOT even be bothered with to render aid herself, or seek medical attention for. Seems like Animal Neglect to me. And then couldn't be bothered to even pick up it's remains but called another to put it in a bag, take it away to the dump. So THIS evidence they are hyper fixated on. all the while real crimes go on in this county and they never respond to, nor do anything about. What the heck is really going on in this county. Even once crimes are reported, & they go before the Court, the State ie that Prosecuting Attorneys office can't even be bothered with ever even contacting victims or witnesses to know anything about the case before the enter the court room and blow the case. There is alot of fraud, corruption, incompetence, neglect, and major ethics violations all through out Pocahontas county. Yes, we all need to get some major FBI and other agencies to investigate. It is like some hellish backwoods dark comedy what goes on here. But it effects real people and all citizens of Pocahontas who aren't on that County/State job dole are the losers.
