some good news

The CEO of Frontier stated that the slow DSL speeds experienced by those of us in the 304-847-**** exchange area are expected to be corrected by February 17.
Since most of what appears on Topix is unreliable, you can listen to the CEO's message at: http://www.youtube.com/watch... |

I just finished a 15 minute conversation with the regional vice-president of Frontier in West Virginia. The fix and projected completion date of February 17 referenced in the message from Frontier's CEO applies only to the 200 plus customers in the 304-847-**** exchange area. The VP is well aware of the similar problems experienced by Frontier customers in other rural areas in WV, and he informed me that Frontier is implementing a fix in those areas affected by the increased traffic and congestion brought about by the addition of Verizon customers to the Frontier system. As the VP was only responding to my specific complaints, he did not have available to him thetimetable for the completion of the fix in the other areas. The VP stressed that the "fix" is part of a two-fold plan. A short term fix (by February 17 for the 304-847-**** area) which should bring the service back to those levels experienced before the added congestion, and a longer term fix which Frontier believes will deliver on true high speed (in his words, to bring WV from being one of the least connected to one of the most connected States in the US). Frontier is also taking under consideration what, if any, type of credit to give to the 200 plus customers here that have been experiencing the slow speeds for at least the past two months.
We will wait and see if they deliver what they are now promising. |

Its all BS go Cable
|
that would be nice
|
that would be nice to have cable as an option, but in most outlying areas of webster, there is no cable |

|
Would love to go cable but it is not an option where I live.
|
not here
|
no cable here either. frontier just needs to take care of their customers and live up tp their contracts and promisses. period.

Well here it is a YEAR LATER and speeds are often just a bit faster than DIAL-UP. Latency last night was 762ms with a download speed of .014Mbps. In other words - no video clips work (unless you buffer for oh, say, an hour or two before attempting to watch them) and a simple task such as accessing email can take more than 10 minutes.
Hahaha from Spanishburg, WV was right. They are liars of the most contemptible kind. |
Yep
|
A 2 month Internet credit??? When I called and told them I was canceling their DSL, they offered to give me DSL for half price. LOL I'm with Shentel now. |

Frontier has been to my house many times since they took over, sometime there are three of them at a time trying to figure out what to do. Best comment they have made is they need more training! still slow as dial up, disgusted.

What an overwhelming load of crap, I've been listening to this crap for better than 18 month. Here's the bottom line, frontier has grossly over sold there available band width and because they're not governed by the PUCO they really don't answer to anyone. Short of a really slick lawyer hitting them with a jumbo class action law suite, the will not change there ways. I wish I could get away with selling a product that I don't own or can't provide for millions of dolla
