Rumors about the pipeline
Rumors about the pipeline:
It is being built with union labor. You must be approved to work on it. The union will determine who gets a job and you must have a job with the union to get a job. This is not easy for local people.
Even driving jobs which are purposed to pay $90 per hour will be union jobs.
This kink in the plan will result in a massive influx of workers from other states. There is a good side though, lots of lodging will be needed. One Durbinite is reported to have bought 200 acres right beside John Simmons on the Bartow backroad.
It seems that portable housing will the mode of this effort. We hear of a huge camping expansion at Boyer to accommodate the hundreds of workers. That's good. This will be good because workers may not be using Snowshoe lodging which would hurt in too ways: A room at Snowshoe is one less room for a tourist who pays the hotel/motel tax. This will put a huge hurt on the library system, among other entities sponsored by the tax. It is expected to affect the entire county.
On the business end, one person reportedly is getting $10,000 per month for a staging area and another person who purchased the Grimes wood operation is able to purchase the property with proceeds from the rent on it.
On the land side one owner received 14 million dollars for his property easement.
Special Note: Will there be massive tax revenue on the site based machinery at Greenbank?

a new casualty of the pipe line the dirt bean over priced coffee shop has to move because her land lord is doubling her rent because with the pipe line he figures that he can cash in and make big bucks ...after all that work she did bringing that building up to something that looks ok even though the exterior needs so much repointing of the brick work... if you look up at the parapet it is going to collapse soon .....he should imagine that building with 11 feet of water in the street and drop the rent
