Up Date on BFD

We should be getting some information this next week from our request for BFD's records.  I talked to John Simmons, the vice-president, of the BFD and he assured me that he had no problem with the Freedom of Information request.

Thank you John!  But he did ask that a formal request be submitted by mail and I am currently preparing a certified letter to the BFD Treasurer with copies to John and another person.

I offered to make my own copies of the records but he said that he wouldn't hand deliver anything.  So I will patiently await the records.

Apparently,  John and Buster disagree on the availability of records to he public.  Buster says that is "none of our business."  So I will comply with John's request.

The BFD gets great hunks of money from the taxpapers.  So much that they were able to write a check for $187,000 at the stroke of a pen.

The BFD meets Monday so they should decide to provide the records.  I will be happy to scan the records in myself wherever they are stored.

Thanks John for your help!!

  1. Formally any request such as this should also be send to the Registered Agent. It is the Corporations SECRETARY that has the legal duty under the law to control, authenticate, distribute ALL Corporate Records. It is the Treasurers duty to be the fiduciary of the entity and to keep all records, books and accounts, including audits, and to distribute this to the Legal Board Directors, and Principle Officers, and all Members and to ensure the SECRETARY has copies of everything as that is their duty for all of them. You MUST get all the information for Articles of Incorporation; and ALL Bylaws with amendments, revocations, and the Resolutions. Also must as for the full legal composition stating all who are Directors, all Principle Officers, and all Members. As well as all Minutes of meetings, voting records and who was in attendance and voted. Must have them disclose ALL sources of income, from all NGOs, State Funds, Federal funds in any form. These are must haves in any review of all the other information.
