Do you all honestly believe they (BOE) are going to rebuild the schools there or is it that you just want to believe it? Serious question here. They're not going to build new schools up there the town is dead and this is the opportunity they have been waiting for to consolidate. I'm not trying to be a smart ass either I'm being real. I'm a lumberjack myself and hate this just as bad as the next person but unfortunately Richwood is dead.

If they're going to consolidate, they should just build it all at the vo-Tech, it's centrally located then both Summersville and Richwood will finally put an end to the griping. Put the high school at votech and football field and band. If you run out of room, buy the drive in for a Jr High. Leave the grade schools alone.

It's stupid to even suggest building a school on horseridge/hinkle mountain, too icy, too steep, too narrow, too many overhanging trees and no water/sewer.

They're not going to rebuild anywhere in Richwood. FEMA will not assist them in any way. Keep tabs on this forum and in 3-5 years you'll see. I don't know who is telling people of Richwood they're going to rebuild there. The towns dead. Its gone.

Yea and the parents think if they raise enough hell with the boe they'll have to build in richwood. Well they're not no matter how pissed of they get and how much hell they raise.

I say if they schools and build a flood wall. It would much cheaper to do this then build 2 new schools. The damage to both the middle school and high school wasn't that bad and can be repaired and if they would do that and build a flood wall then they wouldn't have to worry about this again.

Build a flood wall in a ghost town with nothing. A town that doesn't even have agrocery store. I mean come on now. I love Richwood so much but it is what it is. I'm not ready to say goodbye to it either but there comes a time when we have to face reality.

Nice place for the new landfill, just start dumping and covering, thats the only way that place will ever build back up.

The desperate idiots that built there knowing they didn't have sufficient water that are now tired of hauling it themselves and can't sell because of it wants a quick huge buck to get out from under it.

Are you stupid or what? The BOE doesn't want to spend money, if they did RHS and RMS would have been repaired by now. FEMA will build new around 80% of the cost out of the flood zone. No one pays to build flood walls.

You moron, neither the boe or fema will pay for a flood wall, neither the city nor county has the money. Who do you think is going to pay for it?

Hey you moron, building a flood wall is cheaper than buying land and building two schools.
