See the people you voted for in action

The people on the front line of health care in Pocahontas County are upset.  Upset that Shawn Dunbrack has been so rudely treated.  The following video illustrates this point.

Almost all of these are volunteers who appreciate the good support provided by Dunbrack and showed up at the last county commission hoping to get the county commissioner to rectify the mess that emergency care is in because of the foolish decision of the County Commission to get rid of its hard working director.

  1. off topic here, but something you definitely need to investigate: the "Times" article on the child advocacy group says: " According to a report from CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates – of the 11th Judicial Circuit, 611 children in this county have been reported as abused and or neglected."
611 kids in one year; over ten years? exactly what does that stat mean? according to the latest census there were about 8700 people in the county and 20% are under 18, or 1740 kids; 611 of 1740 would be 35% of the kids reported as abuse/neglected; trust me as one who works in the system, the CASA numbers are very misleading and inaccurate and begs several questions, among them are:
first, anyone can report a kid as abused/neglected; how many of those 611 reports were substantiated and how many were false reports?
second, if the 611 number is right, then CPS and/or local prosecutor are failing miserably in protecting children because only 14 cases (meaning 14 kids) were filed in all of the year 2014
sounds to me like CASA is inflating the number to secure funding for their group

  2. I've sit back for years and watched a town turn against itself. I've set back and seen people turn into corrupt politicians, that used to be good people. I've watched a police force no longer care about the community but about themselves and "what can I get out of this". I've sit back and seen good teachers quit being good teachers. Back in the day it was nothing to see the elected people out and about helping others. It was nothing back then to see the local police helping others just because it was the right thing to do. It was nothing back in the day to have your teacher work right beside you when you was having problems. I was one of them students, and to this day thank them all for how I turned out. I acted out a lot but be damned if I was ever given drugs to quit making me a kid. I know this is off the topic above but we are all accountable for our own actions. I've sit back not because I wanted to, but because I had too. That's going to change soon. There will be a new standard in place, and all the lost souls will be found and held accountable. Ladies and gentlemen there will be a new sheriff soon. I've had to sit back and watch a beautiful small town turn into a drug infested , corrupt, money hungry, let's only do this for myself kinda place. A change is coming.

  3. The new standard is I did not know it's not my job .it's not my fault . I'm sick it's not my fault I did not know . If you look you will find these are common answers among public employees and elected officials.
