Sounds like a real whack-job. It is my sincerest hope that current teaching standards result in a better education than what the author of this letter demonstrates. And what's with the last part? $10 to show up and discuss something that is (thus far) nonexistent? Not to mention all of this was after using "Financial resources for bringing up their children now are being stripped by such things as higher federal taxation, fees [sic] and school tax levies." as a condemnation of the existing education system. I do not believe that more expensive private schools, especially who emphasizes any faith-based curriculum, will be any different with regard to current learning objectives.
Nothing wrong with faith based schools as long as the kids learn and get a good education . Wv public schools fall into number 6 on the list of the poorest quality education . That speaks for its self .
Common core is nothing more than a way for certain companies to enrich them self with money, from a political stand point it is a simple pay off for political figures who have supported it. We need to move both of these types from influencing our school system . The results are sub standard students as teachers become limited in what they can teach. The Road. Runner...
Our State and local school boards allow federal control of our West Virginia schools by accepting federal money that caries with it certain mandates. "we will give you money if you do it our way" (soon to include all-sex bathrooms and "transgender" teachers). We can rant that the federal gov has no Constitutional authority to do this, and it is true, they do not. But people still seem to vote for Congresspeople who "send money home", and our School Board thinks it just can't get by without that dough (plus an excess levy or two) So, there is NO legal obstacle to our running our Pocahontas County school system exactly as we wish....EXCEPT we would have to pay for it entirely ourselves. {Home-schoolers already do this.)
