Alternate Pipeline Route Via Allen Johnson

Norman,
At the county commission meeting Wednesday you asked about the proposed alternate route that Dominion Resources has in mind for the ACP pipeline.
Well, on Friday Bob Orndorff sent out a letter to Stakeholders. You can see this letter on our 8 Rivers website.
The map shows the northern route cutting up around Durbin. This alternative route, in light blue, shows the route cutting through just south of Slatyfork and going easterly south of Snowshoe and just north of Dunmore.
There are problems with this route, too, inasmuch as it cuts through a considerable amount of rugged terrain. Much more private property, and less national forest in the WV sections. With private property looms the specter of eminent domain.
Anyway, I got the maps today and thought you would be interested. It does allay your fear that it would come through or near Marlinton. On the other hand, it would come through others’ backyards.
