My mom's mom was 100 percent Indain , which makes me 25 percent. Guess what I would feel like a moron to dress up like that any time but Halloween. I do not speak any of the language, I was not raised in Indian religious or culture of her people. I don't know their legends etc. I was pretty well not raised in any way Indian as most people who have bit a fraction of Indian blood in them. Myself I consider it a insult to true American Indains who were raised like Indians with true ties to their people,
American Indians were given feathers by other Indians for brave acts killing a bear , fighting a enemy etc. . the only way they could put it in a head dress was to go before the tribal council to gain permission. They did not buy their head dress that is the white mans way. And only a wana be would wear fake feathers or those he did not earn. Real Indians would consider that disrespectful. and unhonorable act. to wear feathers you have not earned.

Respectable governing Native American Groups require you to be 50% or more Native blood to join all others are wanta be.
