Charolotte Elza has been fighting corruption in this county for many years. A few years ago she claims that she was assaulted on her doorstep over a dog/sheep killing case. A circus like trial was held in magistrate court and she was convicted, despite her claim that no sheep were ever shown to have been killed. The law was not followed in the matter, the tape of the trial was ruined, and she was assessed a judgment of $8,000.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office came to her house today at 6:00 P.M. and hauled her car away and would have taken all her household possessions but could not determine which belonged to her. They took her only means of transportation. Charlotte is senior citizen and has medical problems. She was this very day at the doctor's office. The last time the sheriff's office tried to do this a few years ago she had a stroke and spent two weeks in the hospital. Without her car she will be unable to seek medical treatment.
